This was a three day 33 km circuit starting and ending in katoomba. It was my first multi shortly after I arrived in Australia so I didn't want to do anything to long as I needed to ease into it. So many feeling of excitement and some nerve as I didn't know what type of terrain to expect.
When I first began the walk I ran into a lady from Malaysia that was doing the same circuit so she joines me for the first 7km then we parted as she camped out and I kept going. The beginning was rather easy but after that to get up mt solitary was some hand on scrambling which was a bit tough with my heavy pack on. Although, this didn't phase me to much as I was embracing this hike every step of the way. A few hours later I arrived at china mans gully, my first campsite. It was a beautiful spot with many caves around and great lookout right around the corner. Next morning I woke up to guy appearing out of the bush telling me he got lost and had to sleep next to a tree that night. I had heard about people getting lost in blue mountains to but to witness it was a bit scary. This guy had great attitude and after I gave him some water and a muesli bar and some direction we went our own ways.
The next couple days were awesome as I ran into only thatone person and was able to be alone the whole time. This was very good as it gave me lots of time for self reflection and appreciation of my surrounding. Sometime I would stop at a lookout point sit down and just think about how beautiful everything was and I am so grateful to be there. This trek brought me back into a mindset of how the simple things in life bring the most pleasure . Material item come and go but experiences that are created last a lifetime :)
